Megan Schuitema is a lifelong choral singer. She has performed in high school and college across the country and abroad. As a high school student, she was a yearly All-State Chorus and District Honor Choir participant. At the university level, Mrs. Schuitema participated in American Choral Director’s Association and Georgia Music Educators Association Conference honor choirs, the Florilege Vocal de Tours Competition, and ACDA and GMEA Student leadership.
Mrs. Schuitema graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Choral and General Music Education in May 2015. Prior to graduation, she interned with Drew Bowers at Milton High School in Fulton County Schools. She is currently a graduate student at Florida State University, and will complete her Masters in Music Education in 2020. Under her direction, the choirs at Harrison have received excellent and superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluations, superior ratings at the Carowinds Festival of Music, participated in clinics at Northwestern University, the University of Washington, and the University of South Carolina, and were invited to compete at the Georgia Southern University Invitational, where they received third place in the chamber choir category.
In her free time, Mrs. Schuitema enjoys eating sushi, watching makeup tutorials on YouTube, and spending time with her husband and friends playing Dungeons & Dragons.
