Winter Extravaganza Concert

  • Monday, 12/9 from 4-6pm: Dress rehearsal with band and orchestra
    • This rehearsal is required of all students! Due to late notice, if a student has a work/doctor/etc. conflict, they will be excused. However, students or parents must provide a screen shot of a work schedule, doctor’s note, etc. This is our only opportunity to combine with the instrumental students before the actual concert! The rehearsal for each class should last no longer than thirty minutes. Call times for each class are as follows:
      • Concert Choir – 4pm
      • Women’s Chorale – 4:30pm
      • Harrison Chamber Singers – 5pm
  • Tuesday, 12/10 at 7pm: Concert
    • All students are expected to wear their usual concert attire for this performance. Students doubling in choir and an instrumental class may wear their choir attire rather than band/orchestra as they will be more visible when performing with their choir. Students are highly encouraged to incorporate some item of festive attire for this concert! Santa hats, flashing light necklaces, festive bow ties, reindeer antlers, scarves, etc. are all permitted as long as they do not impede other students’ vision or cause the wearer to become overheated under stage lights. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns about attire.
    • All tickets for this concert are $10, regardless of age. Due to very limited seating in the Harrison Performing Arts Center, tickets will be sold online at the link below. The link will go live at 8am on Friday, December 6th! This concert has sold out almost every year in larger venues, so get your tickets as soon as possible if you want to ensure your ability to attend! For reference, there are roughly 465 students participating in this concert, and about 730 available seats in the theatre. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Choir Updates!

Just a few quick bullet points of information going into our first break of the year!

  • Fundraising: Students participating in the Heritage Candle Fundraiser should turn in their money and order forms this Wednesday (9/18)! Boon Supply Fundraiser items should be in the week after break.
  • Spring Trip – Florida Tour: Turn in your permission forms ASAP! We’re well on our way to needing two buses, but don’t wait if you’re planning on going! Get the form turned in as soon as you can. All students who will be in a choir class during the spring semester of this school year are welcome to come with us!
  • Concert Attire: Most students were assigned their concert attire today, and if they’re missing anything it will be assigned tomorrow! If you have any concerns regarding sizing, I need to know no later than Tuesday afternoon in order to rush order any replacement items. Please let me know of any questions as quickly as possible.
  • Enrichment and Uniform Rental Fees: If you haven’t already turned them in, get them to me as quickly as possible! For reference, the choir program has spent around $4,000 this year ordering new concert attire alone… Those fees get used up real fast! $75 for enrichment, and $40 for tuxes, $20 for dresses. Please let me know if you have any questions!

  • PAST DUE – Handbook paperwork
    • See previous posts for the handbook!
  • Every Tuesday & Thursday – All State practice sessions
    • 7:30am & 3:45pm
  • Thursday 8/22 – Open House and Enrichment/Rental Fees due!
    • Enrichment – $75
    • Uniform Rental –
      • Tux – $40 (if your student is in their first four semesters of choir)
      • Dress – $20 (if your student is in their first four semesters of choir)
  • Saturday 8/24 – Choir Pool Party!
  • Wednesday 8/28 – Early Release Day
  • Wednesday 9/4 – Tri-M Music Honors Society Interest Meeting
    • Either 7:30am OR 3:40pm
